Perfect curved textures

Ever made a curved road or staircase and spent ages trying to get the texture just right? Well, you don’t have to anymore. In this tutorial sounding like a cheap commercial I will try to explain how to use the automatic texture alignment trick. With lots of pictures of course. ūüėõ

This is easy!

This is easy!

First¬†you must¬†have the curved object¬†of¬†course. This¬†can¬†be¬†a road/staircase/whatever else is curved. I’ll show you what I made using the arch tool:

A curved road

A curved road

Now add a straight part first! This is important!

Here’s the view from the top with the sizes:

Now¬†we¬†need¬†to align¬†the¬†textures.¬†I’ll let the pictures explain themselves:

All right! It’s properly aligned. That was easy now was it! Just be sure to select the right edge on the texture you want to align first. Also, right-clicking will apply the same texture as the selected texture. (so¬†this trick¬†will only work if the¬†textures¬†are¬†the same) So you should first align the¬†textures and than¬†apply a¬†different one¬†if you¬†want to¬†align¬†different textures together.

Here’s my finished map!

Hello there! This article couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous roommate! He constantly kept preaching about this. I will send this article to him. Pretty sure he’ll have a good read.
    Many thanks for sharing!
